Ah finally, the pros to working outside. The sun has shone for the past couple of days and the ground has almost dried out.

Personally, I’ve put away the winter coat and even stripped off to my polo shirt! Let the farmers tan commence!

In the last couple of days I’ve started to look like I’ve been on holiday – on my face and arms anyway – which always makes people very jealous. And life is so much easier when you just have to brush a bit of dust off the horses and their legs are dry and mud free.
Then there’s always the bathing option. When they come in hot and sweaty after a ride, you can hose them off and not worry about chills or rugs.

The only downside is the flies, but I won’t spoil it by thinking about them!

I love teaching out in the sunshine too, it makes everyone more relaxed and the lessons more productive. Then of course is the hacking factor; the tracks are dry and you can make the most of the fabulous views.

Just to make you all jealous, here are a selection of photos from the last couple of days:

I’m not going to die of jealousy, because that’ll be me in two weeks too!

Haha it’s all private land too 🙂 pretty cool. Every so often I have to take a moment and appreciate the sights!

Well, *I’m* jealous! It is now winter in Africa. Everything is so brown – but at least all the bugs are dead and we don’t have to worry about mud! I just love that adorable pony, second from the right, in your first pic. Is that Otis with the stunning blaze?

It’s all pretty now compared to two months ago when we were a sea if brown mud.
These horses are the riding school mares, I love the bay with the blaze, she’s called Clip Clop. Lives off fresh air! She can be a bit of a bull in a china shop but loves cuddles 🙂 her sister is the bay just behind, Tiptoe, who’s scared of her own shadow!

Haha, sorry Otis, I can’t believe I mistook a schoolie for you! 😮
Clip Clop and Tiptoe are such cute names!

haha they`re very pretty schoolies 😉 and special cos you have to be pretty advanced to ride them.

Aren’t they just? They look lovely 🙂 and friendly too! Very unlike some of the flat-ears, tail-swishing types I’ve met…

Haha don’t believe those butter-wouldn’t-melt faces… Today they broke out into the field of knee deep grass we were trying to strip graze!!
